The financier bought a smaller island - the Little St James - originally in the late 1990s, but acquired the larger adjacent island in the year 2016 for around $22.5 million.
These photos reveal he had formulated development schemes to build upon the substantial island by erecting homes, an performance venue, an underwater office and a reservoir.
