Intensive Moscow's Assaults Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to drinking water, as stated by city officials.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified attacks on electrical systems over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in supplying defensive weapons and applying sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 rockets targeted the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the urban area came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were injured.

The assaults come after evenings of air raids in the territory, portions of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to identify.

Authorities told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already impacting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were preparing for more assaults.
